THOMAS COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Wednesday in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 GMC Yukon driven by Danielle J. Long, 38, Crawfordsville, Indiana, was eastbound on Interstate 70 approximately four miles east of the K-184 Brewster exit.
The driver reported her camper trailer became unstable due to high winds and she was unable to regain control of the camper.
The SUV and the camper left the roadway twice before flipping completely over onto the roof. The vehicles slid across the eastbound lanes and came to rest at the edge of the shoulder and median. The camper remained attached with safety chains on the vehicle during the event.
EMS transported one passenger identified as 15-year-old David C. Long of Crawfordsville, Indiana, to the hospital in Colby. The driver and two other passengers were not injured. All four were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
