The Tigers (3-25, 2-14 MIAA) are looking to snap a six-game skid and pick up their third victory of the season at home. FHSU is 1-0 against Newman so far this season after a 15-10 win in Wichita back on March 15. The Jets (16-13, 6-10 MIAA) won their most recent series two games to one at Central Oklahoma by winning the rubber match 5-2.
Grant Schmidt leads the Tigers in home runs (8) and slugging percentage (.610), while leadoff man Jenner Kehe leads the team with a batting average of .317 and is ranked second in the MIAA with 22 walks on the year.
Newman is batting .280 as a team with 70 doubles (3rd in the MIAA). The Jet pitching staff has a cumulative ERA of 7.14, which is third worst in the MIAA.
The Jets hold a 27-21-1 lead in the all-time series against the Tigers. The Tigers hold a 3-1 edge in MIAA meetings between the schools, which goes back to last season.
