Leon Alfred Dinkel, 87, Victoria, died Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his home.
He was born April 29, 1934, on the family farm near Victoria, the son of Alfred G. and Leoba (Dreiling) Dinkel. Leon graduated from Victoria High School in 1952. On August 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Lillian Dreiling at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays. They celebrated 68 years of marriage. He loved farming and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife: Lillian of the home, two sons: George Dinkel and wife Linda of Wichita and Joseph Dinkel of Victoria, four daughters: Diana Dinkel of Victoria, Mary Stecklein and husband Duane of Munjor, Annette Wiesner and husband Raymond of Hays, and Therese Augustine and husband Vern of Overland Park, three brothers: Elmer Dinkel of Victoria, Ralph Dinkel and wife Pat of Golden, CO, and James Dinkel and wife Shirley of Victoria, nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Irvin Dinkel and Alfred G. Dinkel, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, with Fr. Brian Dinkel, IVE officiating. Burial followed in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
