
Alec Paul “Putz” Hrabe passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in Rooks County, at the age of 57.
Alec was born to Doyle and
Dorothy (Thyfault) Hrabe on April 23, 1963 at the Hays Hospital in Hays,
Kansas. He was united in marriage to Vicky (Rockford) Hrabe on June 11,
2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alec had three children: Brock, Jeremy, and
Jordan.
Putz was a life-long resident of Stockton. He graduated from
Stockton High School with the class of 1982. He then farmed and worked
in maintenance for the Plainville High School. He served as a
firefighter and for several years was fire chief. If he wasn’t working
or putting out fires, he enjoyed spending time in his garage tinkering,
chasing coyotes or storms, and bird hunting. Putz loved his family
including his dogs: Spot, Smudge, and Sally Mae, and cat Sherlock.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Hrabe of the home; children, Brock
(Debbie) Kolar of Woodston, Jeremy Hrabe of Stockton, and Jordan
(Michael) Carpenter of Stockton; siblings, Gina Muir of Stockton and
Chris (Jean) Hrabe of Salina, KS; and seven grandchildren, Cheston,
Brook, Kyler, Dayton, Serenity, Bentley, and Haddie.
Putz is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Dorothy Hrabe; brother, Brad Hrabe; and brother-in-law, Brad Muir.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at
Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton starting at 10:30 A.M. There
will be no public visitation.
As we acknowledge Putz’s wishes, the family has requested that those
who attend the service dress in casual and comfortable attire.
