Wichita City League schools have canceled all non-league games and will play a league-only schedule for fall sports in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
GWAL athletic director J Means told the Wichita Eagle that a decision whether to play any games is coming Thursday.
The decision leaves Hays High with two less football games.
The Indians were to open their season September 4th at Wichita East then host Wichita Northwest October 23rd.
The decision does not affect Hays High's game game at Maize South on October 15th since they are not in the Greater Wichita Athletic League.
Tuesday's decision by the GWAL leaves other WAC teams without games.
Dodge City lost three games and now has only one scheduled through their first four weeks of the season. Liberal lost three and Garden City lost two.
The move also affects the Hays High boys soccer team who was scheduled to play in the now canceled Wichita South Titan Classic.
HHS tweeted out Tuesday night that they are trying to find replacement games and has already scheduled Salina Central on September 9th in Hays.
