Doris Williams, age 85, passed away on February 15, 2021, at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas.

Doris was born on April 26, 1935, the eldest of four children born to James Fred Pendergraft and Gladys Ellen (Rasmussen) Zink. Doris grew up West of Greeley, Colorado and spoke fondly of her days in 4-H and helping her Dad on the family farm. Doris was a 1953 graduate of Grover High School. She had a love of music and enjoyed playing the piano and accordion at dances and also loved dancing.

In 1957, she moved to Cheyenne, WY where she met her husband, Cruse H. Thomason. They were married in Bangor, Maine where Cruse was stationed with the Air Force. Born of this union were Pamela Ellen and LeAnn Jean Thomason. Over the years, she worked as an accountant at Greeley National Bank, and helped build the family business, Cee Tee Grain Brokerage and Trucking Company in Yuma, Colorado.

In 1985, Doris married Wilbert “Abe” Williams. Doris and Abe made their home in Derry, PA. Doris worked helping the elderly during her years in PA. Doris always had a special bond with animals over the years. Prior to Abe passing they bought two dogs, Willie and Sammy who made the trek back West with her to be closer to her family after his passing.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cruse Thomason; husband, Wilbert “Abe” Williams; stepson, Curtis Williams; two brothers, Richard and Stanley Pendergraft and son-in-law, George Phifer, Jr.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Phifer (Joe Scaramuzzo) of Loveland, CO, and LeAnn (Shane) Wyatt of Norton, KS; sister, Anne Cole (Frank Vawter) of Greeley, CO, grandchildren: Brandon (Bree) Phifer of Casper, WY, Joshua Phifer of 29 Palms, CA, Jaqueline (Bo) Villegas of Greeley, CO, and Ryan (Kamy) Auker of Loveland, CO, step grandchildren, Shanea (Tim) Werner of Phillipsburg, KS, and Brett Wyatt of Dallas, TX, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
