A heat advisory has been issued for most of western Kansas, including Ellis County, on Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m.

With a projected high of 100 degrees Monday, the mercury will jump to a high of 107 Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Dodge City said.&nbsp;

High temperatures are expected to remain in the triple digits at least through Sunday, the NWS predicted, with highs ranging between 100 and 106 for the next week.

There is a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms Thursday and Saturday evenings. Otherwise, skies are expected to remain clear.
