Mary Ann Griffith, age 98, of Castle Rock, Colorado formerly of Hays, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Castle Rock. She was born October 30, 1923, in Hays to George and Anna (Witt) Benton.
Mary Ann, in her early working career, worked in the Pentagon as a secretary. She then was a homemaker until her daughters were grown and then worked as a bookkeeper for the Athletic Department at Fort Hays State University.
Mary Ann was dedicated to her faith and church where she was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays and St. Francis of Assisi in Castle Rock. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella in Hays.
Mary Ann enjoyed traveling which included trips to visit Rome and the Vatican as well as the Our Lady of Medjugorje site.
She is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Anderson and husband Donald Mason of Georgetown, Texas, and Cathy Radloff and significant other, Rick Hisey of Kimball, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Steve Geving, Anna Geving, Chad Savage, and Amy Kostycz; She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Griffith; as well as two sisters, Georgine Olson, and Lucille Gerstner.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1805 Vine Street, Hays. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hays.
Visitation will be Friday 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 PM on Friday followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 PM all at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Family Catholic Elementary School.
