NW Kan. woman injured after SUV strikes fence, hay bale

SHERMAN COUNTY — A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just before 10:30a.m. Saturday in Sherman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 GMC Acadia driven by Karen J. Flemming, 75, Bird City, was southbound on Kansas 27 five miles south of Goodland.

The SUV left the roadway to the left, entered into the east ditch, traveled through a fence and into a field. It continued to travel southeast going through two more fences, struck a hay bale and came to rest in the yard of a residence.

EMS transported Flemming to the hospital in Goodland. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
