Housing Opportunities, Inc.
RUSSELL — The City of Russell and Russell County are working closely with Housing Opportunities, Inc. (HOI), to provide 24 two-bedroom, one-bathroom duplex units for residents aged 55 and older. This project has income restrictions in order to qualify. Flintwood will also include a community room, offering a shared space for social activities and events that will be available to tenants.
Housing Opportunities, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to providing safe, affordable, quality housing to families and individuals across Kansas. With a focus on addressing housing shortages in rural communities, the organization specializes in creating homes that support long-term stability and well-being for residents.
Flintwood is funded through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and HOME Funds provided by the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC). HOI will serve as both the owner and property manager of the development.
Construction at Flintwood is moving right along! Siding, windows, and roofing are nearly complete, and crews have started interior work. The street and cul de sac groundwork will start in the coming weeks.
