WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Palmer Hutchison hit three home runs to carry the Hays Larks to a 19-12 win over the Denver Cougars Saturday afternoon.
Hutchison homered in the second, fifth and sixth innings then added a single in the ninth. His two-run shot in the second on a 3-2 pitch gave Hays the early lead.
The Larks (5-2, 2-1 RMBL) had 21 hits including four home runs in the slugfest.
The Larks scored six in the ninth on RBIs from Brady Evans, Leo Jiminian, Tanner Rice and Austen Jaslove.
Hunter Marshall picked up the win for Hays, allowing four runs on five hits with six strikeouts and one walk over 3 2/3 innings.
The Larks continue their four-game swing through Colorado Sunday evening against the Colorado Springs Roughriders.
