⚽ FHSU women play to scoreless draw at Augustana

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second-straight year in a row, Fort Hays State Women's Soccer played to a scoreless draw with Augustana, this time on Augustana's home field on Friday night. It was the third-straight meeting overall that FHSU and Augustana tied. The Tigers moved to 0-1-2 overall on the season, while the Vikings are now 1-1-1 overall.

Augustana outshot FHSU by a count of 15-7 and placed five shots on target compared to two for FHSU. The Tigers had more corner kick opportunities, holding a 6-4 advantage.

Goalkeepers Mackenzie Caldwell (FHSU) and Aaliyah Matthews (Augustana) played the entire 90 minutes. Caldwell had five saves to Matthews' two.Back from her time with Costa Rica at the U-20 World Cup, Montserrat Diaz tied Sydney Cotter for the team lead in shots, each with two. Both had a shot on goal.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will face Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday (Sept. 15) at the same location as Friday night's game. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m. at Morstad Field in Sioux Falls.
