Per-day virus rate in Ellis Co. remains at 1; just 3 new cases identified

The Ellis County Health Department on Monday reported the average number of new coronavirus cases per day in the last seven days remained at one.

There were just three new cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County since Friday. There are currently 11 active cases and 3,692 recovered cases. There were no active hospitalizations of Ellis County residents.

As of Monday, there were four COVID-19 inpatients at HaysMed, with just three of those active patients and one in the recovery phase.

The seven-day average of percent of positive tests fell slightly to 2.3 percent.

Since reporting began, there have been 3,703 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 73 coronavirus-related deaths.

Of the total 25,661 tests administered, 13.3 percent have returned positive for COVID-19.

NOTE: "New cases" reflects cases reported by the Ellis County Health Department between regular reporting periods of Monday, Wednesday and Friday. "Total cases" reflects all cases reported by the department. Because of delayed test results, total cases might include cases prior to the previous reporting period, so KDHE figures might not necessarily correspond.
