Vita Evelyn (Chinn) Stegman, age 91, of Hays, Kansas passed away on December 3, 2020, at her home. She was born on the family farm on March 10, 1929, to Maple and Cecil (Bobbit) Chinn.
She was one of twelve born and raised on the Chinn family farm in Coats, Kansas. She married Tony Stegman from Pratt Kansas on January 6, 1948. Together they raised seven children.
Vita treasured her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was happiest when spending time with family and friends. She loved to work in the yard and going to garage sales. She was faithful in reading the bible and trusting in God. She believed that there was good in everyone.
She is survived by her sisters Jean and Lila; her sons Joe Stegman (Bert); John Stegman (partner Margie); Anthony Stegman (Juanita); Steve Stegman; Mark Stegman (Sandy), and a daughter Judy Stegman; fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Linda Stegman, and several brothers and sisters.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Street Hays, KS 67601. Her family will receive guests beginning at 1:30 PM.
