The Fort Hays State baseball team opens postseason play as the No. 10 seed in the 2026 MIAA Championship Tournament Wednesday when the Tigers take on seventh-seeded Missouri Western. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. from Wendell Simmons Field in Edmond, Okla.
The Tigers wrapped up the regular season 17-32 overall and 12-24 in MIAA play, while the Griffons were 26-23 on the year and 19-17 in conference action.
Fort Hays State is playing in the conference tournament for a third year in a row, the longest streak for the team since qualifying four-straight times between 2010 and 2013. FHSU is 5-14 all-time in eight previous trips to the MIAA tournament, including a 2-3 record against Missouri Western. The Griffons are the only team that FHSU has multiple MIAA tournament wins against (UNO 1-0, MSSU 1-1, ESU 0-2, NWMSU 0-2, UCM 0-6). The Tigers have lost six straight games in the tournament, with their last win coming in the 2012 semifinal.
