
Randy Allen Spencer, age 42, of Oberlin, Kansas, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Randy was born on November 28, 1983, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Dennis Spencer and Rita Kinder. He grew up on a farm outside of Selden, Kansas, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors, hard work, and mechanics. Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding dirt bikes and ATVs, exploring the countryside, and spending countless hours outside helping on the farm.
Randy graduated from Decatur County High School in Oberlin, Kansas, with the class of 2003. After high school, he attended Goodland Vo-Tech, where he studied automotive technology. Throughout his career, Randy worked at Carico Implement in Hays and at an automotive shop in Russell. His passion and talent for mechanics eventually led him to own and operate his own business. He was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical skills, determination, and ability to fix just about anything.
More than anything, Randy cherished the time he spent with his daughter, family, and friends. Whether he was fishing, riding ATVs, sharing stories, or lending a helping hand, Randy found joy in being surrounded by the people he loved. He will be remembered for his kind heart, hardworking spirit, strength, and willingness to help others whenever they needed him.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Adalyn Spencer; his parents, Dennis Spencer and Rita Kinder; twin brother Danny Spencer and wife Melissa and their children; sister Sherri Space and husband Jonathan and their child; brothers Cody Spencer and wife DeAnne and their children; and Darrel Spencer and his children. He is also survived by his aunts Helen and Kenny Engel; Irene and Rod Leak; uncle George and Lola Wessel; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his uncle Fred Wessel and his grandparents, Lawrence and Anna Wessel; Leonard and Jennie Spencer.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Hawkeye Cemetery near Selden, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Randy’s life and the many memories shared with those who knew and loved him. Follow the graveside service family and friends are invited to a gathering at the Re-Load Bar and Grill in Oberlin, Kansas.
Randy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of kindness, generosity, strength, and love will never be forgotten
