Carol Jane Wagner, 88, Rush Center, Kansas, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Wesley Trauma Center, Wichita, Kansas.

Carol was born April 27, 1933, in Rush County, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Olive Vera “Ollie” (Johnson) Davis. 

A lifetime resident of Rush County, Kansas, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, school cook, bank employee at Timken State Bank, Timken, Kansas, and office assistant at Skillett and Sons Trucking, La Crosse, Kansas.  After retiring, her family was her pride, joy and priority. 

Carol graduated from La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas,  in 1951, and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas. 

On April 12, 1953, she married Kenneth E. Wagner at the First Christian Church, La Crosse, Kansas.  He preceded her in death December 23, 2010.

Survivors include:  two sons, Duane Wagner and his wife, Pam, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Rory Wagner and his wife, Joann, Manitou Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Cheryl Miller and her husband, Joe, Iola, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Jodi Hagan, Clint Wagner, Brooke Kern, Lindsey Wagner, Brett Wagner, Megan Cole, Mandy Roe and Melissa Kent; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Merrill Davis and Elton Davis.

Visitation will be Monday, August 16, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. 

Church visitation will be Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 9:00 A.M. to 9:50 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas, with Pastor Wayne Baldyga officiating.  Interment will be Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, WaKeeney, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas.
