Howard W. Linenberger, 84, Parker, Colorado, died Sunday, October 4, 2020, at his home.

He was born January 1, 1936, in Benkelman, Nebraska the son of Alfred and Angela (Reiman) Linenberger.  On January 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Shirley Befort, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage.  From 1953 to 1956 he served in the Army National Guard.  In 1961, he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he owned his own business, Denver Reconditioning.  He then went to work for Ford Truck Sales as the body shop foreman.

Survivors include his wife Shirley, of the home in Parker, CO, a son; Howard W. Linenberger, Jr. and wife Jeannie of Post Falls, ID, a daughter; Sharon Christy and husband Rob of Elizabeth, CO, his twin brother; Harold Linenberger of Hays, four grandchildren; Vanessa Strouse and husband Rick, Amanda Zoller, Christina McElwain and husband Tony, and Mark Zoller, Jr. and fiancé Alyssa, and nine great grandchildren; Sammy Linenberger, Daniel Strouse, Emma Zoller, Hunter Zoller, Zakery McElwain, Athena McElwain, Mark Zoller III, Garrett Zoller, and Ryker Zoller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Alfred “Berdal” Linenberger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2020 at The Basilica of St. Fidelis in Victoria, with Fr. Jim Moster officiating.  Burial with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in St. Fidelis Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 on Thursday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and from 9:00 am until 10:00 on Friday at The Basilica.  A vigil service will be at 6:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Council of Ellis County.  Condolences and memories of Howard may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
