Jackie Louise (Wilson) Wright, 92, of Lenora, Kansas,passed away June 23, at Salina Regional Hospital, Salina, Kansas. Jackie was born January 15, 1934 in Kirvin, Kansas, the second daughter of Victor Newton and Irene Alice (Still) Wilson. Jackie attended school in Kirwin, graduating in 1951. Jackie worked as a telephone operator in Kirwin after graduation. In 1953, Jackie met

Charles “Chuck” LeRoy Wright., They were united in marriage June12, 1955. Jackie and Chuck moved several times during the next 27years as Chuck worked for the Department of Reclamation surveying for dams, from Nebraska, then Oklahoma, back to Nebraska, on to Texas, and then to California. In 1982 they moved to Lenora, Kansas where they lived the rest of their lives together. They enjoyed metal detecting, fishing together, going gambling, and collecting many treasures throughout their travels. Chuck preceded Jackie in death May 22, 2023 after nearly 68 years of marriage. Jackie kept busy at the Lenora Senior Center working as the manager since August, 2004, as well as serving on its Board. She bowled in a lady’s bowling league on Thursdays in Hays, attending many state and national tournaments. Although not a seamstress like her sister Vickie, she liked going to quilt class once a month and made several quilts over the years. She also enjoyed riding along to many activities with Goerge and Vickie, whether that was to watch one of their kids or grandkids play various sports or just go on an adventure that may or may not have stopped at a casino or two along the way.

Jackie will be greatly missed by her siblings: Wallace (Wilma)Wilson of Pomona, Douglas (Susan) Wilson of Taylorsville, Utah, Vickie (George) Gassmann of Clayton, Frank (Theresa) Wilson of Wylie, Texas; and Sherri (Randy) Sanders of Amarillo, Texas; along with seven nephews, seven nieces, several great-nephews, great- nieces; great-great nephews, great-great nieces, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by husband Charles Wright; parents, Victor and Irene Wilson; brother Fredy Wilson, sister Beverly Hatfield, and niece Connie Gassmann.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM with family present from 5 to 7 PM at Stinemetz Funeral Home 522 N. Pomeroy, Hill City, Kansas.

Funeral Services will Monday, June 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Stinemetz Funeral Home. Burial following service at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, WaKeeney Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Senior Center in Lenora, Kansas, in care of Stinemetz Funeral Home.
