KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Anjaleena Gomez and Katie Stoskopf of Fort Hays State were two of the three weekly MIAA Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week honorees on Tuesday. Gomez was named the Defender of the Week, while Stoskopf earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors. They helped the Tigers to a pair of draws last week, including a scoreless shutout against No. 3 nationally ranked Pittsburg State.

Gomez was instrumental in Fort Hays State holding its opposition to just one goal last week in a pair of ties. She provided an assist on her long free kick into the box that led to the FHSU goal against Missouri Western, then she helped the Tigers hold Pittsburg State, the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, scoreless in the second contest of the week. Gomez played all 90 minutes of each contest. Missouri Western and Pittsburg State are both among the top-six of the initial Central Region NPI rankings released by the NCAA.

Stoskopf helped the Tigers to a pair of draws in MIAA play this past week, including a shutout of No. 3 ranked Pittsburg State. She made 10 saves over two matches and allowed just one goal against Missouri Western. She had a 0.50 goals against average for the week and picked up her second shutout overall for the season in the scoreless tie with Pittsburg State.

Gomez and Stoskopf joined Ella Favot of Emporia State (Offensive Athlete of the Week) as the weekly honorees from the conference office.
