
Queena Mae Mumma died on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She died peacefully at home with loved ones at the age of 101 years old. Queena was a beautiful human being, generous with her time and loved by all.
She was born on November 5, 1919, in Lane
County the daughter of Elmer & Mayple (Wallace) Wolfe. She married
Carl M. Mumma on May 6, 1939, in Dighton. He died on July 4, 2005.
Queena went to East Lake School in Lane County and graduated from
Dighton High School. She and her husband farmed in Lane County for many
years. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Dighton. She
enjoyed working in her yard and garden, fishing, sewing, crocheting,
reading, volunteering, playing bridge and spending winters in Del Rio,
Texas. In 2006, she moved to Aldersgate Village in Topeka to be closer
to her family.
She is survived by her two daughters Judith Ann (Mumma) Gugler of Kansas
City, Missouri and Carla Mumma of Lawrence, six grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her parents, husband, son, brother and a grandson.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 3 at United Methodist
Church in Dighton with Rev Darrin Hammond. Burial will be in Dighton
Memorial Cemetery.
