Gary Levi Olson was born February 9, 1951, in McCook, Nebraska, to Levi 
and Merle (McKinney) Olson. He passed away July 30, 2020, at the age of 
69. 
 Gary grew up in Oberlin and was a 1969 graduate from Decatur 
Community High School. He then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree 
from Fort Hays State University. Gary spent his life farming and in his 
spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the 
Oberlin United Methodist Church.
 Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his 
sister, Cathy Hamilton of Salina, KS and nephew, Jacob Hamilton of 
Denver, CO. &nbsp; &nbsp; A private burial was held at Oberlin Cemetery. A memorial service 
will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the
