
Clarence “Red” Dingus of Holcomb, Kansas was born June 4, 1940, in Linn
County, Kansas. He passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, at St.
Catherine Hospital in Garden City at the age of 81. He married Leeta
Wishon Dingus on April 12, 1960. Clarence and Leeta owned and operated
Dingus Well and Trenching Service for most of their married life. Red
Enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, square dancing, and spending time
with family and friends. He was a member of the Lions Club and the
Holcomb Community Church.
Survivors include his children Cheryl and husband Marty Fryar of
Larned, Kansas, Darin and his wife Jane Dingus of Holcomb, Kansas, and
Steven and his wife Elizabeth Dingus of Richland, Missouri; his
grandchildren Christopher Parker, Amber Atchinson, Anthony and Andrew
Dingus, Chassidy Green, Quincy, Wesley, Bethany, Khloey, Malachi, and
Darby Dingus; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchidlren; and
his 2 brothers Robert and Cecil Dingus.
Red is preceded in death by his parents Chester Dingus and Ina
McGregory Dingus; his wife Leeta Wishon Dingus; his siblings Elizabeth,
Ruth, Eva, Donna, Katherine, Marvin, Nellie and Carl; and a grandson
Avery Dingus.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 10,
2022, at the Church of the Brethren in Garden City with Von Hunn
officiating. Burial will follow at the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield,
Kansas. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and
from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden
City. The family suggests memorials given to Friends of Lee Richardson
Zoo in care of the funeral home.
