Agnes Marie Hernandez of Scott City, 59, died February 2, 2021, in Hays,
Kansas. She was born May 11, 1961 in Satanta, Kansas, the daughter of
Walter and Madelyn (Woodson) Hoffman.
Agnes was born in Satanta, grew up in Garden City, and most recently
resided in Scott City. She had worked as a waitress at various
restaurants in Southwest Kansas. She married Paulo Hernandez in Scott
City on July 31, 1998. He died June 5, 2019. She enjoyed taking long
walks, traveling to the mountains, and going to the carnival with
family, but what she loved most was always checking up on everyone. She
was a talented seamstress, crocheted many beautiful pieces, and could
also fix any car. Her family will cherish the memories of her sweet
smile and infectious laugh.
She is survived by her Daughters-Telsa Martinez of Scott City and
Esperanza Hernandez of Satanta; Grandchildren-Maricio, Emilio, Alencio,
Andrew and Alia & Siblings- Howard Hoffman, Harold Hoffman and
Marilyn Hoffman. In addition to her Husband and Parents she was
preceded in death by her Grandson-Alex & Siblings-Henry Hoffman,
Karen Hoffman and Tilly Hoffman.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday February 6, 2021, at
Assembly of God Church of Scott City with Rev. Edward L. Sanderson
officiating. Visitation will be held 3:00 -8:00 pm Friday February 5,
2021, at Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City and 11:00
am to service time at the Assembly of God Church of Scott City and
broadcast live via the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page. Family
suggests memorials to the Agnes Hernandez Memorial Fund.
