Ellis County Commissioner Neal Younger is asking Hays city commissioners to allow four types of alternative vehicles on Hays streets.

The vehicle types are currently prohibited on city streets by state law. However, they can be authorized by city ordinance.

Younger's request is for all-terrain vehicles, utility task vehicles, work site utility vehicles and micro-utility vehicles. They are among four of several non-automobile vehicles that have specific considerations under state or city law.

Commissioners also will hear the request during Thursday's work session along with a request to transfer certain mineral rights to Rick and Betty Wolf at the intersection of 260th Ave. and 41st Street.

The complete agenda is available here

The work session starts at 6:30 p.m. in Hays City Hall, 1507 Main.
