
The world is a lonelier place with the passing of Bonnie Sue
Jeffries-Evans-Samson, 81, of Ludell, KS, on July 12,2021 at McCook
Community Hospital. Bonnie was born May 31, 1940, to Marion and Eva
(Yeo) Jeffries of Atwood, KS. She was the middle of two other sisters,
Alberta and Marian Ellaine.
Bonnie graduated from High School, in Atwood, KS, in 1957. She went to
Denver, CO to pursue her license in Cosmetology, where she met William
(Bill) Evans. Bonnie and Bill married on June 28, 1960 and were married
for 32 years. During their marriage, they had 3 daughters, Becky,
Barbara, and Beverly. Affectionately known as the ‘B”-Hive.
After Bonnie and Bill divorced, Bonnie went on to earn her Associates
Degree in CAD Engineering at the age of 55 and worked at Boeing for the
next 5 years.
Sometime in 2008, Bonnie moved back into the Atwood area (Bird City). A
couple of years later she ran into her old classmate, Richard Samson.
They were married on January 26, 2013. Her comments were that God
brought them together and she passed happily in love.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Alberta and Marian Ellaine.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Samson; her children,
Becky & Gerald Lister, of Greeley, CO, Barbara & Les Steiner, of
McDonald, KS, and Beverly Evans & Mark Ramser, of Brighton, CO;
bonus-son Jamie Samson & Sara Bishop; 8 grandchildren; 13 great
grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; nephew Earl Shannon and many
other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday July 18, 2021, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Baalmann
Mortuary, 109 N. 2nd St., Atwood, KS 67730. Funeral Service will be
Monday, July 19, 2021, at 10:00 am at Baalmann Mortuary. Burial will
follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Ludell, KS. For information or condolences
