David Drew Ford, 65, passed away June 3, 2021, at Kinwood View Health & Rehab, Salina. He was born October 13, 1955, at Clovis, New Mexico, to Burl & Dorothy (Camp) Ford.
A Great Bend resident for most of his life, David was a handiman for Venture Corporation. He enjoyed painting and BBQ's. He loved his cats but especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include, his mother, Dorothy Morgan of Great Bend; a daughter, Chelsea Shanks and husband Frank of Great Bend; two brothers, Curtis Ford of Great Bend, and Kevin Ford of Ruidoso, New Mexico; a sister, Denise King and significant other Steve Fricks of Great Bend; a brother in law, Eddie King of Great Bend; three grandchildren, Fabio Chavez, Zain Shanks, and Kash Shanks; a nephew, Wayne King; and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Burl Ford; and a brother, John Ford.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorials have been designated to the David Ford Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
