After winning the Colby Orange & Black Classic which included a pair of victories over ranked opponents, the Hays High girls moved up six spots to No. 2 in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association 5A rankings released Tuesday. The Indians had dropped in the poll after their last win over a ranked team.
Wellington, who the Indians defeated in the Orange & Black semifinals, falls one spot to No. 2 in Class 4A. Colby, who Hays beat in the title game, remains fifth in Class 3A.
The Hoxie girls drop a spot to No. 6 in Class 2A. Quinter is seventh in 1A Division 1.
Logan-Palco holds at No. 3 in the 1A Division 2 boys rankings.
