Elmer L. Lundstedt

Elmer L. Lundstedt, age 85, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Hays Medical Center.  He was born August 18, 1935, in Jamestown, Kansas to Leeman and Ethel (Bailey) Lundstedt.  In August of 1959, he met and married his sweetheart, Deanne Sue Dillon, in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Elmer was a newspaper printer and worked for the News Chronicle in Scott City, Kansas, for over 40 years.  He delivered newspapers for 20+ years in Ellis for the Hays Daily News.  He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan, and was very active in supporting and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with his family.  His most cherished time was spent serving and assisting the Kansas School for the Deaf and the Deaf Community Culture.

He is survived by his wife, Deanne; daughters: Rita (Randy) Phillippi of Lawrence, KS; Tracy (Melvin) Kinderdnecht of Ellis, KS; a sister: Ellen Nickel of Scott City, KS; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Clifford Lundstedt and a sister: Esther Miller.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis.

Visitation will be Friday 5 PM - 7 PM at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS 67637.

Memorials are suggested to the Deaf Community Culture and/or Christ Lutheran Church in care of the Funeral Chapel.
