Shirley Ann Hand, devoted wife and mother went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2024. She was born on August 09, 1933, and was 91 when she passed away at Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS. Her services will begin at 11:00 AM on September 30, 2024 at Linwood Baptist Church, Linwood, KS preceded by a viewing at 10:00 AM. She was the wife of Stanley Hand (deceased) and the mother of four children: Alan Hand (deceased)-(Cindy Hand) Deerfield, NH, Scott Hand – Linwood KS, Leigh (David) Coffman -Tonganoxie, KS, and Brenda (Mitchell) Van Voorhees – Burdett, KS.

 She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Michael and Jacob Hand, Benjamin, Joseph, Matthew, and Joshua Coffman and 7 great grandchildren.

She was born in Easton, KS to Lillian Moeller Meints and Christian Meints. She moved to Tonganoxie, KS as a child. She was involved in 4-H, EHU, Sertoma, Tonganoxie Seniors, and a member of St. Martins Lutheran Church, Kansas City, KS. Later, she also attended Linwood Baptist Church, Linwood, KS.

She and Stanley loved camping and visiting all 50 states. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts, baking, sewing, and gardening. She worked as a beautician until she was married and a mother. Later, she worked for Peruvian Connection, Tonganoxie, KS. One of her favorite hymns was What a Friend we have in Jesus. Her faith helped her throughout her life, and she lived a full and fruitful life.

Her two brothers, twins, Richard Meints and Robert Meints, and her three sisters: Gertrude Dunlap, Ethelyn Wager, and Carolyn Pantle – all have gone on to be with the Lord.
