MANHEIM, Pa. - Fort Hays State men's wrestling senior Tereus Henry moved up to 11th at 197 pounds in the latest NWCA NCAA Division II Coaches Rankings, released Monday by the coaches association.
The El Paso, Texas native moved up one spot in the poll after sitting in 12th entering the holiday break. The former All-American opened the season ranked as high as eighth in the country.
Henry is 9-4 this season, including a 4-0 mark in duals and a 6-2 record against other Division II opponents. He's racked up four bonus-point wins on the year, including two major decisions, one pin and one technical fall.
Henry picked up a pair of wins at the SMSU Duals in his first action since the holiday break, recording one technical fall and one decision.He is one of three MIAA wrestlers in the national top 15 at 197 pounds alongside Nebraska-Kearney's Jackson Kinsella, who ranks fifth, and 13th-ranked Emmanuel Skillings from Central Oklahoma.
The men's wrestling team will enter conference action this weekend when the Tigers host Newman beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 26).
