Foster and adoptive families from across the state are invited to the annual “In Faith Conference” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1605 E. 29th St.
The event is being sponsored by Foster the Cause and Saint Francis Ministries.
Kristy Opat, one of the organizers, said, “This conference is open to all foster homes from every agency across Kansas, as well as anyone interested in supporting the important work we do for our community’s children.”
The theme of this year’s conference is “Resources.”
“As foster parents, we serve day in and day out, in countless ways--in faith," she said. “We know that this calling can sometimes feel isolating. There are moments when it may seem like we are on an island, trying to navigate challenges and find answers on our own.
“Resources and support are available, but they can sometimes be difficult to find—especially when you don't even know what resources exist or where to begin looking.”
The cost of the conference is $33.85. Registration is available at https://bit.ly/infaithconf2026. Lunch is included.
“We have an exciting day planned with great speakers, helpful resources, meaningful activities, and opportunities to connect with others who understand the journey of fostering and adoption,” Opat said.
“Our hope is that every foster and adoptive parent leaves the conference feeling encouraged, supported, and equipped with a better understanding of the resources available to them—and, just as importantly, how to find and access those resources when they are needed.”
