🥎 Monarchs swept in Colby

COLBY – The TMP-Marian softball team had their four-game win streak snapped Thursday in Colby losing twice the Eagles, 8-4 and 19-9.

The Monarchs are now 10-8. They close out the regular season with a makeup doubleheader Friday in Great Bend at noon.

Game 1: Colby 8, TMP-Marian 4
TMP-Marian scored two in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh but it wasn’t enough to overcome an 8-0 deficit.

The Eagles scored two in the first, two in the second and one in the third for an early 5-0 lead. They would add three more runs in the fifth.

The Monarchs scored in the sixth on a Julianna Baalmann single and a steal of home by Alexa Ryersee.

Karli Komarek drove in Hannah Garcia on a two-out double in the seventh. Baalmann was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded which drove in the second run. A flyout ended the game.

Madison Augustine went the distance in the circle allowing four earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

Brooke Koeningsman had three hits and Julianna Baalman had two RBIs.
