The soaking rains continued in Hays Tuesday morning after nearly a half-inch fell overnight. And there's more on the way.

An official 0.43 inches of rain was measured at 9 a.m. Tuesday by the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town.

Hays is still well below the 153-year cumulative average for the end of May.

By May 31st, Hays averages 7.81 inches of moisture. On May 23 of this year, 5.93 inches has been measured for the year, a little more than two inches below normal.

The three-day weather forecast calls for continued rain Wednesday as the temperature begins to warm up.

There's a 20 percent chance of rain Memorial Day, according to the National Weather Service in Dodge City.
