Paulette M. Sander

Paulette M. Sander, age 84, of Hays, Kansas, former Victoria resident, died Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.  She was born April 29, 1936, at Victoria, Kansas to Dionysius F. “Dan” and Catherine (Bach) Dreiling.  She married Norman L. Sander on November 12, 1956, at Victoria, Kansas.

She was the Office Manager/School Secretary at Victoria Grade School for number years and was bookkeeper at R & S Oilfield Services for 13 years.  She also worked at Woolworth’s in Hays and was a seamstress at Aaron’s Wear.  She grew up in Victoria and was a 1955 graduate of Victoria High School.  She lived in Hays and Gorham until they built the home at Victoria in 1965.  In 2010, they sold their home and traveled in their motorhome until moving to Knoxville, Tennessee in 2014.  They moved back to Kansas in 2018, and settled in Hays.  Paulette enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, fishing, cooking and gardening.  

Survivors include her husband, Norman L. Sander Sr. of the home; one son, Norman Sander Jr, and wife, Sherry, Nashville, TN; one daughter, Debbie Leickteig and husband, Dan, Greeley, KS; three grandchildren, Trent Karlin, Clayton Murray, Aaron Sander; one great grandchild, Adison Karlin; four brothers, Dan Dreiling and wife, Elaine, Topeka, KS; Frank Dreiling and wife, Kathy, Kansas City, KS; Lloyd Dreiling and wife, Eileen, Kansas City, KS; Roy Dreiling and wife, Linda, Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Luella Bowman, Eldorado, KS; Cathy Roth and husband, Tom, Atlanta, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Lillian Dreiling, Norma Jean Wellbrock and Charlene Roth.

Services will be held at a later date at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas and inurnment will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.

The family suggests memorials to St. Fidelis Cemetery in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E.22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
