🏀 Tiger women hold at No. 6 in latest WBCA rankings

LILBURN, Ga. - The Fort Hays State women's basketball team is ranked No. 6 in the WBCA Coaches Poll for a third-straight week, released Tuesday by the coaches organization.

Now 14-1 overall and 5-1 in MIAA play, the Tigers earned 456 points in the voting process, up from 439 one week ago. Defending national champion Grand Valley State held on to the top spot again this week, with Minnesota State slotted at No. 2. Pittsburg State is the only other MIAA team listed in the poll, with the Gorillas sliding to No. 16 after dropping their third game of the season.

This is the 12th time the Tigers have been ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II coaches poll. FHSU is 17-3 when ranked sixth, 199-49 overall when ranked and 145-29 when slotted inside the top 10. The Tigers have now been ranked 129 times in the team's DII era, including 88 appearances inside the top 10.

The Tigers wrap up a four-game road swing this week beginning Thursday when they travel to St. Joseph, Mo. to take on Missouri Western beginning at 5:30 p.m.
