SMITH CENTER  — Trinity Ag Coop is proud to announce they have awarded a grant donation of $2,500, with a matching grant from CoBank, to the Phillips County rural fire departments.

This funding will enhance the department’s capabilities in providing life-saving emergency services and further support their commitment to protecting Phillips County communities.

The grant will be used to replace outdated and non-compliant flashlights with modern intrinsically safe flashlights for all frontline firefighting personnel. Intrinsically safe flashlights are critical for operating in environments with flammable gases, vapors, and combustible dust, significantly reducing the risk of ignition and injury.

This update will ensure the Departments meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and operate with equipment that enhances both safety and effectiveness during emergency responses.

Every year, the Trinity Ag board of directors and CoBank choose to give back to the first responders that serve and protect our communities. They are honored to support these frontline personnel by helping to ensure they have the tools and resources they need.
