Linda Ochs Wood, 79 years old, passed away on November 7, 2020, at Hays
Medical Center. She was born on March 4, 1941, in Quinter, KS to Henry
and Anna (Haffner) Ochs. She graduated from Hoxie High School in 1959.
She worked as a CNA and home health assistant for many years. Many
people were blessed by her care. She volunteered at Hospice of Hays.
She was a member of NKA Visually Impaired, Shooting Stars Square Dance,
and St. Nick’s Catholic Church of Hays.
Linda was reunited with her parents Henry and Anna Ochs; sisters,
Eleanor Ruppert (Jack), Dorthy Wasnalas (Lenard), Clara Coppen, and Anna
Leiker (Julius); brothers Clem Ochs(Emma Helen), Wendolin Ochs
( Viola), Steven Ochs (Betty).
She is survived by her brother Henry “Hank” Ochs (Helen Jo); her
Children, Koren Johnson (Joe) of Colleyville, TX. Steven Shepard (Lisa)
of Leavenworth, KS, Russ Shepard of Hoxie, KS, and Lance Shepard (
Coleen) of Hoxie. Her grandchildren, Blake and Travis Johnson,
Makenzie and Cole Shepard, Morgan Nevola (Trent), Bailey Guinn (Jory),
Alayna and Wayne Shepard; great- grandchild, Kolbie Grace Guinn and many
nieces and nephews.
