
Phyllis Ione (Kobler) Madden, went to her heavenly home on August
18, 2021, at the age of 90, joyful to be reunited with so many she loved.
She was a loving wife to her husband of 54 years, and a loving mother
to their five children.
Phyllis was born on January 27, 1931, to Albert and Anna Kobler at
their home in Morland, Kansas. She lived her entire childhood in the
family business, Kobler Drug Store with her parents, three sisters, and
one brother. Raised in a Christian family, Phyllis lived a life that was
shaped and guided by her faith.
On June 19, 1949, she married Eugene Ellis Madden moving to Hill
City, Kansas. In the early 70s, the family moved to Dodge City, KS for
over 20 years. Upon retirement they moved back to their hometown of
Hill City for several years and eventually moved to the Wichita area for
the remainder of her life
Phyllis is now joyfully reunited with those who preceded her
including her parents, her husband Gene, son Mark Eugene and daughter
Teresa Jane and her beloved grandson Jeffrey Mark, her sisters and
brother, LaVergne Hardman, Margaret Rath, Lorrayne Deines and Carl
Kobler and their spouses.
Her survivors include her daughters, Patricia (Ken) Beran, Pamela
(Gary) Werling, and her son, Kelly Madden, as well as her sister-in-law
Janice Richmeier, 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and many
nieces and nephews. Her earthly life was filled with the love of family
and friends, and most importantly faith in Jesus was her path to eternal
life. All who knew her were blessed to have her in their lives.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September
18, at the Graham County United Methodist Church in Hill City, Kansas
with visitation at the church on Friday, September 17th from 4-6:00.
