A red flag warning with high fire danger is in effect for Ellis County now through 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Other affected counties include Trego, Scott, Lane, Ness, Rush, Hodgeman, Pawnee, Stafford, Ford, Edwards, Kiowa, Pratt, Clark, Comanche, and Barber.
Winds are forecast to be from the southwest at 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Relative humidity is expected to be as low as 15%.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
