Sallie Adaline Hager

Sallie Adaline Hager, 86, passed away on March 28, 2022, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born on November 20, 1935,  in Horace, Kansas, to Glen & Bessie (Smith) Neal. Sallie married Arthur Hager on August 18, 1953, at Hoisington, Kansas.  He died May 26, 2014.

Coming from Dighton in 2004, Sallie was a Claflin, Kansas resident. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a nurses aid, mainly for Lane County Hospital. She was a member of the Christian Church in Dighton, United Methodist Church in Claflin, lifetime member of the VFW, and an avid bingo player. Sallie also cherished her dog, Sarge.

Survivors include, four daughters, Vickie (Randy) Oeser of Claflin, Debra (Paula Skinner) Hager of Wichita, Cathy (Matt) Soeken of Claflin, Sandra Jo Hager of Wichita; five grandchildren, Rachelle (Chad) Stratmann, Christina Hayes, Sara (Dustin) Arnold, Ryan (Abra) Oeser, Ross Oeser; ten great-grandchildren; Rebecca, Evan, Bryson and Ava Stratmann, Richie Hayes, Grant and Josslyn Arnold, Raelyn Oeser, Khloe and Layton Oeser; one great-great-grandchild, Brody; and one brother, Cecil Neal of Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, William “Bill”, Willis, and Fredrick Neal; and seven sisters, Arlamae and Kenavae Neal, Glenna Snieder, Jessie Kasselman, Twila Miller, Penny McClung, and Phyllis Luerman.

Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, with the family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Claflin with Pastor Diana Webster presiding. Interment will follow at the Claflin Cemetery.

Memorials have been designated to Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, Claflin EMS, or United Methodist Church of Claflin, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
