THOMAS COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just before 12:30p.m. Tuesday in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chevy Impala driven by Jessica Martinez De Alvarez, 40, Atwood, was northbound on Kansas 25 eight miles north of Colby.
The Chevy approached a vehicle at a fast rate of speed. The driver attempted to brake and the Chevy entered the east ditch and came to a rest facing northwest.
EMS transported Martinez De Alvarez and a passenger Ashley Suzzuta Saenz, 18, Atwood, to Citizen's Medical Center. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
