Pilot in NW Kan. avoids injury after crop duster lost landing gear

SHERMAN COUNTY—A pilot avoided being injured after an incident while landing just after 3:30p.m. Sunday in Sherman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported an Air Tractor crop duster piloted by Rosemarie L. Surette, 48, Vail, Colorado, was attempting to land at Goodland Municipal Airport.  The aircraft caught a gust of wind, came down and rotated, snapping off the left landing gear.

Surette was not injured. The KHP released no additional details. The incident remains under investigation.
