Kenneth Ray Bishop

Kenneth Ray Bishop, 98, passed away on November 13, 2021, at the Wichita County Hospital. He was born on February 19, 1923, in Leoti, the son of Elvin and Inez Henry Bishop.

Kenneth was a life time member of the Leoti community. After serving during World War II in the US Army Air Corps, he returned to Leoti and worked as a farmer and rancher.

On June 24, 1945, he married Elizabeth Jane Pflaumer in Kansas City, Kansas. She passed away on June 13, 2015.

He was a founding member of the High Plains Appaloosa Horse club.

He is survived by his son Kelly & Chris Bishop of Leoti, Kansas, one granddaughter, Kyla & Paden Owens of Leoti, Kansas, four great-grandchildren; Kelly Bishop Owens, Mesa Rae Owens, Mercy Johanna Owens, and Raegan Leola Owens of Leoti, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister, LoRee Scott and one brother Leslie Merle Bishop.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with Bruce Loy presiding.

Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 20, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 21, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Price and Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas at 4th and J Street.

Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the Museum of the Great Plains and the Leoti EMS.
