THOMAS COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 5p.m. Saturday in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Freightliner semi driven by Timothy Alan Rauscher, 28, Fayetteville, NC, was eastbound on Interstate 70 seven miles west of Kansas 25.
Due to weather and road conditions, the semi went off the roadway and came to rest in the median on its side. The National Weather Service in Goodland had issued a severe weather warning for Thomas County late Saturday afternoon.
EMS transported Rauscher and a passenger Heywood, Asia Monique Heywood, 31, Covington, GA., to the hospital in Colby. Heywood was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
