GODDARD - Bishop Carroll did all their scoring in the first three innings in a 6-1 victory over Hays to end the Indians' season.

The Golden Eagles scored a run in the bottom of the first without recording a hit. A walk opened the inning, followed by a ground out, a passed ball, and a second ground out to score the run.

Bishop Carroll (18-8) added three in the second on a pair of extra base hits and and error. Their final two runs came in the third inning. Hays recorded two quick outs, but an error kept the inning alive for the Golden Eagles who took advantage by scoring two more runs for a 6-0 lead.

Hays (11-13) had few chances to score. A double play and a pair of base runners caught stealing kept the Indians' opportunities to a minimum.

The lone Hays run came in the sixth inning. Kal Lonsdale extended his hitting streak to seven games with a two-out single. Jace Dreher walked after a nine pitch plate appearance. Brett Rhoades put a ball in play that was mishandled by the shortstop which allowed Lonsdale to score the game's final run at 6-1.

Hays was held to four hits. Two of those from Casen Hardman. Lonsdale and Rhoades each recorded one hit. Bishop Carroll had just five hits but was walked five times and hit by one pitch.
