
Hessel Merle Anderson, 65, passed away June 24, 2021 at the Sheridan
County Health Complex in Hoxie, Kansas. He was born August 24, 1955 in
Wichita, Kansas. He was adopted by Merle and Florence May (Moore)
Anderson of Ruleton, Kansas. His parents moved the family north of
Morland, Kansas where they made their home. Hessel graduated from High
School with the class of 1975. He continued his education receiving his
EMT ID.
Hessel married Linda (Borger) on April 1, 1977. They moved to Hoxie
and owned HLA Conoco. Hessel served his community as EMT, volunteer
firefighter, City Police Officer and retired as Sheridan County
Undersheriff. Hessel was a member of Christ Community Church of Hoxie.
Hessel leaves to mourn his wife Linda of the home; his stepson,
David Denio and wife Lacey of Hoxie, Kansas; four granddaughters, Lillie
and Rosalie Denio of Hoxie, Kansas, Mercedes Chesney of Salina, Kansas,
Skyler Denio of Wichita, Kansas; and sister, Relda Owens and husband
Tony of Hill City, Kansas.
No services are planned. A Memorial Book will be available to sign
at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home. No time has been set for the book
