Hays USD 489 announced Friday it will decrease its COVID mitigation restrictions based on the current active COVID cases among students and staff.
The district will be moving from a level three to a level two.
This includes:
10-day quarantine for close contacts with a five-day test-out option
OR
Return to school if mask is worn and active monitoring for symptoms
Level two can be maintained as long as the district has less than 20 active COVID-19 cases among students and staff.
School officals from all the county's schools meet with health officials weekly to review COVID mitigation efforts.
