Leslie Marvin 'Les' Randa

Leslie Marvin “Les” Randa, 61, La Crosse, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home.

He was born September 24, 1960, in La Crosse, the son of Marvin and Mary Ann (Herrman) Randa.  Leslie was a 1978 graduate of La Crosse High School.  In 1981, he was united in marriage to Melissa (Ruder) Irwin.  They later divorced.  His memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church in Liebenthal and the La Crosse Knights of Columbus Council #2970.  Leslie worked as a roofing contractor and at Cross Manufacturing.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and cooking, especially Volga German recipes.  His hobbies included drawing, writing, and coin collecting.  Leslie was an avid sports fan, loved watching his sons play sports, was proud of his family heritage, and loved time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his four sons: Aaron Randa, Christopher Randa and wife Tafra, Bryan Randa and wife Brooke, and David Randa and wife Krystal, all of Hays, a daughter: Savannah Randa of Hays, two brothers: Ronald Randa of Hays and Lyle Randa and wife Amy of Wichita, five sisters: Linda Gottschalk and husband Loren of Basehor, Doris Scheideman and husband Kent of Haysville, Marilyn Randa of Derby, Nadine Foreman and husband Steve of Haysville, and Pamela Winkler and husband Robert of Charleston, SC, a sister-in-law: Barbara Randa of Huntsville, AL, and eleven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his life partner: Constance R. Malcom, and his brother: Gary Randa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal with Fr. Stephen Dabanka officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:30 pm until 7:30 on Wednesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at the church.  A vigil service will be at 6:30 pm followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:00 pm, all on Wednesday at the funeral home.
