Melvin Francis Sander

Melvin Francis Sander, age 73, passed away January 20, 2021, at Hays Medical Center. He was born February, 17, 1947, to Mike and Georgene (Wasinger) Sander in Hays, Kansas.

Melvin enjoyed watching old television shows, especially The Andy Griffith Show and Bonanza.  He enjoyed Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, and he was a Ford man. He especially like spending time with his family and making people laugh. He was a talkative man who never knew a stranger. He worked at Dan’s Café and Holiday Inn.

Survivors include three brothers; Marvin, Larry (Rhonda), and Mike, all of Hays; three sisters, Darlene (Bill) Johnson, Bertha, CO; Linda (Francis) Fisher and Debra Kuhn, both of Hays.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Norma Thompson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 25, 2021, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be Sunday 5 PM - 7 PM at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be used as family’s wishes.
